CCCPET seals Heritage Conservation and Development Projects with Local Government Units
The GS CCCPET finalized various heritage conservation and community development projects with local government units such as the Binan City Government in Laguna, the Municipality of Magalang (Pampanga) and Mabalacat City in Pampanga. The Center, represented by its Director Assoc Prof. Eric Babar Zerrudo Phd and Technical Coordinator Ms. Beverly Macayan Bautista, paid a courtesy call to Binan City Mayor Arman Dimaguila Jr. last February 28, 2023, facilitated by Tourism Officer BJ Borja on the formalization of the project “Cultural Development Planning Workshop and Conservation Management Planning for Selected Built Heritages of Binan City”. In Central Luzon, the courtesies last March 21, 2023 were accommodated by Magalang Mayor Maria Lourdes Lacson, facilitated by Tourism Officer Ryan Miranda for the project “Site Development Planning of the Magalang Town Plaza”, and by Mabalacat Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, facilitated by Tourism Officer Arwin Paul Lingat, for the international project UNESCO International Field School of the Asia-Pacific Higher Education Network- Intangible Cultural Heritage (APHEN ICH) scheduled in August 2023. The APHEN-ICH Field school is also in partnership with UST College of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
The Center strengthens its linkage with local government units in its advocacy for study-policy-community triangulation to effect a heritage-driven development.
