USTGS-CCCPET, LGU Pantabangan commenced cultural heritage mapping
The Local Government of Pantabangan in collaboration with University of Santo Tomas Graduate School Center for Conservation of Cultural Property and Environment in the Tropics (USTGS-CCCPET) commenced the orientation of cultural mapping project of Pantabangan in Nueva Ecija last October, 28, 2021.
The orientation program was attended by 50 public school teachers from 14 barangays of Pantabangan. During the orientation, Mayor Roberto T. Agdippa reiterated the importance of the cultural heritage mapping activity for the sustainable development of the town specially in the municipality’s comprehensive master development plan. At the same time, Dr. Lulu Diamante, the Pantabangan District Supervisor of Department of Education (DepEd) emphasized the benefit to the education sector specially on the localization and contextualization of curriculum. Meanwhile, Councilor Celestino Sadaba, Chairman of Culture and Tourism welcome and thank the University for partnering with the LGU in this endeavor. The cultural mapping activity will be conducted through hybrid formats of face to face and Heritage Online Mapping Experience (HOME) program of USTGS-CCCPET. HOME program is an online program customized for local government unit and education sector to facilitate the conduct of the cultural heritage mapping activity. All lectures and activities through face-to face will be closely implemented according to IATF protocols.
