UNESCO partners with USTGS-CCCPET on sustainable tourism in Ifugao
The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) conducted on October 26-28, 2015 a workshop on sustainable tourism in Ifugao Province.
Themed “Initiation Workshop on the Sustainable Tourism at the World Heritage Site of the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras,” it was a collaborative project between Unesco Jakarta, Malaysia-UNESCO Cooperation Program, Unesco National Commission of the PHilippines (UNACOM), National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the Provincial Government of Ifugao, the University of Santo Tomas Graduate School – Center or Conservation of Cultural Property and Environment in the Tropics, and with the assistance of the cultural heritage studies program of the UST Graduate School.
The event is under the UNESCO project “The Power of Culture: Supporting Community Based Management and Sustainable Tourism at World Heritage Sites in Southeast Asia.”
