Agulto, MA CHS student, USTGS-CCCPET conduct cultural heritage mapping project of Biñan City Public Market

The University of Santo Tomas – Center for Conservation of Cultural Property and Environment in the Tropics (USTGS-CCCPET) recently facilitated the Heritage Mapping Workshop and Consultative Assembly of Biñan Public Market on September 2, 2016 in Biñan City, Laguna initiated by Master of Arts in Cultural Heritage Studies (CHS) candidate Antonio Agulto as part of his thesis.

Assoc. Prof. Eric Zerrudo served as the main speaker and joined by Wilson Yu and Ivan Man Dy, both CHS students presented also their respective projects in San Rafael, Bulacan and Binondo, Manila.

The project aim to redevelop the Biñan City Public Market as a tourist destination. The workshop is in cooperation with the Local Government of Biñan and stakeholders of the public market. The National Commission of the Philippines for UNESCO (PH Natcom) in cooperation with UST Graduate School Center for Conservation of Cultural Property and Environment in the tropics conducted the first part of the three-stage ladderized World Heritage and Biosphere Reserve Nomination: Capacity Building Seminar-Workshop.
